Harvie and the Magic Museum
We've created a mobile app which allows kids, thanks to augmented reality, to transport heroes from the big screen to their school desks, rooms, or playrooms and make short videos. Children can now become little directors and share their creations starring their favorite film characters.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
For Rolling Picture, we prepared a mobile application with the characters of the film Harvie and the Magic Museum
Our task was to design and create, in a very short amount of time, an application that would entertain child audiences of the biggest Czech 3D animated film of 2017 and help promote the film outside of traditional marketing channels.
TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTION
The application was developed in the closed beta version of the new iOS 11 before ARKit was officially launched
The most important thing in the development of the Harvie app was ARKit’s ability to accurately recognize horizontal surfaces along with tracking and positioning objects on small reference points. ARKit uses Visual Inertial Odometry technology, which blends camera sensor data with basic motion data. The device then recognizes movement with high accuracy without the need for further calibration.
Since Harvie is all about elaborate visuals, it was crucial to light the scenes in the application. ARKit can use the camera sensor to analyze the overall lighting in the scene and apply the right ratio to illuminate the virtual objects.
